Oh how I love this place. My friend and I are regulars here, always coming for their nutella crepes after wandering around Hawthorne. Everything about Chez Machin is charming: the tables are covered in red checkerboard tablecloths, the walls are rustic red, Edith Piaf plays on the stereo, and the waitress is adorable. Ask for the back room, and the hostess will show you to a hidden back room that is usually emptier and has a fountain.

Saint Cupcake is a cute pink-and-teal cupcake shop in the Pearl District. It offers bite-size and regular-size, allowing you to try the many flavors that change daily. My favorites are the chocolate with cream cheese icing and the chocolate with hot fudge.

Best cupcakes I have ever had. Neither Magnolia, St. Cupcake, nor Jones can compare to Kara's light and airy cupcakes. Eating the frosting is like eating a whipped cloud, not that clouds taste that good. Unlike other cupcakes I've had, these are moist and don't make you feel like you've just ate a whole chunk of cake.
